When the Dr. Martens boot first catapulted from the working-class essential to a cultural must have 'cool' icon back in the 1960s, the world was pre-internet, pre-MTV, pre-CD, pre-mobile phones.Dr Martens boot defined comfort but was practical, hard-wearing and a design classic, factory workers and transport unions who had initially bought the boot by the thousand, were joined by rejects, outcasts and rebels from the fringes of society.
Skinheads were the first subculture to adopt the boot in the early 1960s, spilling out of the East End of London, then across Britain and the world.
Now, after this amazing boot has survived the test of time, it can now be bought in a wide range of colours and patterns, but, it has always stayed true to its original design, and most importantly, it is uber cool to still own a pair.
We used these gorgeous boots in a deep burgundy colour and paired them with this amazingly beautiful bright floral vintage wrap dress. Don't you agree that they look fab together?
The boots are not for sale, but the dress is and can be found right here
