NAIL ART MAKES ME VOMIT

No - your nails don't look chic and classy - they look like something out of a sci-fi horror movie, the nails of the baddie who tries to look like a fashionista, but fails miserably because her dress sense is slightly on the off putting, tragic side of the line.

I know now I have made some enemies.  But please ladies - don't do it.  It's wrong.  If you are going to do anything with those talons make it classy - do something like this:

Or go to our Facebook page and check out the Movember special - now that is actually amusing.

Do I have any support on this?  Or am I on my own?  Not that I care anyway.

  1. All the yuk ones remind me of Flo Jo in the Olympics (may she RIP). Ooooooh I love the spots and stripes ... BUT I think I'll need a bit of a lie down after seeing the hideous Bert and Ernie nails - eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!

  5. I, too, find nail art weird. It sort of came out of nowhere and it's very off putting. Just my opinion ;-)

  7. I do OTT nail art deliberately for the fact it's kitsch and tacky. I'm not interested in whether they look 'classy'- I developed the habit living in Surrey as a form of radar for avoiding snobs who shop exclusively in The White Company and Hobbs (seriously, it's like Kryptonite to them). I combine it with a vintage/modern wardrobe just fine.

I'm not saying all nail art looks good, but not everyone WANTS classic taste. I like kitsch, done well.

  9. Hm, I don't know if I should comment if you don't care.
Or did that just mean you welcome both opinions?
My English is not always the best for subtle tones, and the subtle tones are frequently lost over the Internet even for the native speakers :D .

Anyway, if you do care to hear our opinion, but welcome both - I'd agree with you:
I don't love long and tacky, but since I dislike "beige" ("" since it's not about the colour).
I love what Nailside does: Vintage Clouds and also the work of Chloe's Nails (black on black - you can't get more fashionable than that :D !) - simple, with a little something extra.

  10. Wow! I was hoping those were water decals! :D Do you do stuff like that with your non-dominant hand, too? Cause I could never manage. This is true art, amazing. :)
